I was honoured to be invited to give the keynote at DrupalSouth Wellington 2026, where I laid out the vision for Drupal CMS. 

When Drupal CMS was announced almost two years ago, the focus on user experience for less technical users may have felt like a pivot for a project that has largely prioritised developers in recent years. But rather than changing the focus, the introduction of a product-ised release is all about growing adoption by expanding Drupal's reach. 

This is more than just marketing -- although that's important too! -- and the convergence of new developments in the last year or so does feel like the start of a new era for Drupal, not only for newbies but for all of us.
